Jardonnay VDL was named the Champion of the 2017 KWPN Stallion Show in Holland. In the KWPN Performance Test he immediately proved his qualities again and received the KWPN-license.
Jardonnay’s pedigree is all about breeding; for years sire Kannan has been one of world’s best producers of showjumpers with offspring like Quabri de l’Isle (Pedro Veniss), Quorida de Treho (Romain Duguet), Molly Malone V (Bertram Allen)and Diva II (Ben Maher) and earlier on Olympic champion Nino des Buissonnets (Steve Guerdat). Additionally, the influence of the ‘Preferent’ awarded Indoctro has been more than huge and great-grandsire Lux has had an enormous contribution to the breeding of showjumpers as well.
The combination of the powerful Kannan with the beautiful mare Duzella – dam of Jardonnay VDL – seems to be outstanding. Dam Duzella is a celebrity herself as well: in 2011 she became the Dutch champion of the 3-year-old mares in Ermelo. One year later, Duzella’s sister Ella became champion of the regional mare show in Brabant, which confirms the quality of this damline. Jardonnay’s granddam Uzella was awarded ‘Keur’ and ‘Preferent’ and also produced the 1.45m-showjumper Bocelli ridden by Guy Goosen. Great-granddam Ozella produced Dubai, a gelding by Cardento who is performing at Grand Prix-level with Mavis Spencer. The 1.50m-showjumper Tavarone is a son of Ozella as well.
Jardonnay VDL gained no less than 84 points in the KWPN Stallion Test. His scope, canter and reflexes were all awarded with an 8.5, as well as his rideability, dedication and talent as a showjumper.
